The chassis is the part of the vehicle that is subjected to the greatest loads during driving. It is particularly affected by the transfer of the body’s mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or sudden acceleration.
When cornering, mass transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. This can cause major deformation and twisting of the chassis or body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
This rear lower chassis brace helps increase body rigidity in the mounting area.
