The vehicle chassis is one of the parts subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly noticeable due to the transfer of the body mass when cornering quickly, braking hard or accelerating intensely.
When mass is transferred through a corner, one side of the vehicle can experience up to 3 times more load than the other. This causes deformation and twisting of the body, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The rear lower chassis brace helps limit these undesirable movements of the body.
