The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during dynamic driving. This is particularly evident due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. This causes significant chassis flex, namely deformation and torsional twisting of the body, resulting in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis deformation and flex while driving through bends can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
This rear lower chassis brace is designed to provide additional support to the body and is attached to 4 mounting points.
