When cornering quickly, braking hard and accelerating, the vehicle chassis is subjected to heavy loads caused by the transfer of the body’s weight.
When cornering, the transfer of weight to one side of the vehicle can result in up to three times more force being transferred than to the other side. This causes significant chassis twisting or body deformation, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis twisting and deformation while cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The rear lower chassis brace helps further connect the mounting points and limit unwanted body movement.
