A car’s chassis is the part of the vehicle subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is particularly evident when the vehicle’s body weight is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
In some cases, weight transfer in a corner can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can result in significant deformation and twisting of the chassis or body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The Ultra Racing rear lower brace helps to further stiffen the chassis at the rear of the vehicle. It features 4 mounting points and is intended for the Volvo S80 II; when fitting, observe the restrictions regarding the engine, drive type and wheelbase.
