ACL Race main bearings are trimetal engine bearings designed for higher RPM conditions. Their combination of design, metallurgy and engineering provides improved fatigue resistance.
Increased eccentricity compensates for bore distortion at high RPM and assists in forming hydrodynamic oil films. The main bearing set includes 0.025 mm extra clearance.
- High-strength overlay plate with reduced thickness for improved fatigue properties
- Increased crush for improved bearing retention in the housing
- Flash plating eliminated on the back for improved heat transfer and maximum grip in the housing
- 3/4-grooved main bearings to optimize bearing load-carrying surface area and oil flow to the conrod bearings
- Tight, consistent wall tolerances to help maintain consistent clearances
- Enlarged ID chamfers on bearing edges for large fillet radii on performance crankshafts

Sizes
STD is the standard size for an unground crankshaft. Undersizes (−0.25 mm, −0.50 mm …) are for a reground crank, and “+0.025 mm clearance” (X) is for highly stressed engines. Your machine shop chooses the size after measuring.
