ACL Race rod bearings for BMW S50 are designed for demanding operating conditions and higher RPM. Their trimetal construction combines design, metallurgy and engineering for reliable engine operation.
The set contains ACL Race Series rod bearings with improved retention in the housing, consistent wall thickness and increased eccentricity to support a stable hydrodynamic oil film.
- High-strength overlay plate: reduced thickness improves fatigue properties.
- Hardened steel backs: improve support for the bearing lining and bearing retention in the housing.
- Increased crush: improves bearing retention.
- No flash plating on the back: improves heat transfer and grip between the bearing and its housing.
- Increased eccentricity: compensates for bore distortion at high RPM and assists hydrodynamic oil film formation.
Suitable for: BMW M3 III (E36), BMW Z3 I (E36).

Sizes
STD is the standard size for an unground crankshaft. Undersizes (−0.25 mm, −0.50 mm …) are for a reground crank, and “+0.025 mm clearance” (X) is for highly stressed engines. Your machine shop chooses the size after measuring.
