The downpipe for VAG 1.2 TSI engines from HG Motorsport can be exchanged fully for the standard component. Excellent fitment and high-quality materials ensure precise installation. Road use: Only the version with the 200-cell HJS sports catalytic converter has ECE approval for road use. Versions without a catalytic converter, with 100- or 200-cell sports catalytic converters, or with the Bull-X 200-cell EOBD catalytic converter are intended exclusively for track use.

Catalytic converter information

When selecting the downpipe without a catalytic converter or with a 100- or 200-cell catalytic converter, the engine control unit may display a fault from the post-catalytic-converter lambda sensor. This does not affect driving, as the first lambda sensor remains in place for engine management. The post-catalytic-converter sensor is used to monitor catalytic converter efficiency. The fault can be removed by adapting the software by a specialist engine calibration company.

Most vehicles meeting the Euro 3 emissions standard do not have a post-catalytic-converter lambda sensor, allowing installation without further adaptation or a fault message. HJS ECE and EOBD catalytic converters have a considerably higher active coating content and very high oxygen-storage capacity, which can prevent fault messages. The EOBD catalytic converters have been tested for this purpose up to Euro 4. Their durability and use are also suitable up to the Euro 6 emissions standard. On Euro 5/6 vehicles, the above issues can only be avoided by selecting an ECE-approved catalytic converter.
