The 2.5″ (63.5 mm) Bull-X downpipe is an ideal solution for all front-wheel-drive VAG models with the 1.4 TSI/TFSI engine, whether standard or already performance-tuned. High-quality stainless steel, precise TIG welding and the option of an ECE-approved HJS catalytic converter provide a more efficient exhaust system.

Important fitment information:

For the VW Polo, SEAT Ibiza and Audi A1, an additional connecting pipe is essential. Installation is not possible without it.

Road use: Only the version with an HJS sports catalytic converter carrying ECE approval is homologated for use on public roads. Versions without ECE approval, including the cat dummy and 100-cell or 200-cell sports catalytic converters without the relevant approval, are intended exclusively for track use.

Catalytic converter information

When selecting a downpipe without a catalytic converter or with a 100-cell or 200-cell catalytic converter, the engine control unit may register a fault from the post-catalytic-converter lambda sensor. This does not affect driving performance, as the first lambda sensor remains in place for engine management, while the post-catalytic-converter sensor only monitors catalytic converter efficiency. The fault can be removed by adapting the software through a specialist tuning provider.

Most vehicles with an emissions standard up to Euro 3 do not have a post-catalytic-converter lambda sensor, so installation is possible without further adaptation or fault messages. HJS ECE and EOBD catalytic converters have a significantly higher active coating content and very high oxygen-storage capacity, which can prevent fault messages. EOBD catalytic converters have been tested for this purpose up to Euro 4. Their durability and use are also suitable for emissions standards up to Euro 6. On Euro 5/6 vehicles, the points described above can only be avoided by selecting a catalytic converter with ECE approval.
