This downpipe for VAG 1.2–1.4 TSI Euro 5/6 engines from HG Motorsport is a direct replacement for the standard part. Perfect fitment and high-quality materials make it a precisely engineered product. Road use: Only the version with the 200-cell HJS sports catalytic converter with ECE approval is suitable for use on public roads. Versions without a catalytic converter, with 100- or 200-cell sports catalytic converters, or with the Bull-X 200-cell EOBD catalytic converter are intended exclusively for track use.

Catalytic converter information

When selecting a downpipe without a catalytic converter or with a 100- or 200-cell catalytic converter, the post-catalytic-converter lambda sensor may trigger a fault in the ECU. This does not affect driving operation, as the first lambda sensor responsible for engine management remains fitted. The post-catalytic sensor is used only to monitor catalytic converter efficiency. Most vehicles up to Euro 3 emissions standard do not have a post-catalytic sensor, so fitting is possible without further adjustment or a fault message.

The HJS ECE and EOBD catalytic converters have a considerably higher washcoat content and very high oxygen-storage capacity, which can prevent fault messages. The EOBD catalytic converters have been tested in this respect up to Euro 4, while their service life and use are suitable up to Euro 6 emissions standard. On Euro 5/6 vehicles, the points mentioned above can only be avoided by selecting an ECE-approved catalytic converter.
