BULL-X Exhausts produces high-quality downpipes, including this 3.5″/89 mm Bull-X downpipe for the VW Polo 6R/6C GTI, Audi A1 1.8 TFSI and SEAT Ibiza Cupra 6P. It is suitable for both standard and tuned vehicles.

Fitting this downpipe can improve engine response and contribute to increased performance. Exhaust gas temperatures are also reduced, helping to relieve the exhaust manifold and turbocharger.

Note: For vehicles with a manual gearbox, we recommend using a reinforced engine mount. The original mounts can wear out quickly and the larger pipe diameter may otherwise cause contact and unwanted noise.

Catalytic converter information

When selecting a downpipe without a catalytic converter or with a 100- or 200-cell catalytic converter, the engine control unit may register a fault from the post-catalytic-converter lambda sensor. This does not affect driving, as the first lambda sensor remains in place for engine management, while the post-catalytic-converter sensor monitors catalytic converter efficiency. The fault can be removed by adapting the software.

Most vehicles up to Euro 3 emissions standard do not have a post-catalytic-converter lambda sensor, allowing fitment without further adaptation or a fault message. HJS ECE and EOBD catalytic converters have a significantly higher washcoat content and very high oxygen storage capacity, which can prevent fault messages. The EOBD catalytic converters have been tested for this issue up to Euro 4; their durability and use are provided for vehicles up to Euro 6 emissions standard. On Euro 5/6 vehicles, these issues can only be avoided by selecting an ECE-approved catalytic converter.

Road use: Only the version with the 200-cell HJS sports catalytic converter with ECE approval is approved for use on public roads. Versions without a catalytic converter, with a 100- or 200-cell sports catalytic converter, or with the Bull-X 200-cell EOBD catalytic converter are intended exclusively for track use.
