The downpipe for Audi A4 B8 and A5 2.0 TFSI models from HG Motorsport can replace the standard component completely. Precise fitment and high-quality materials make installation straightforward. Road use: Only the version with the 200-cell HJS catalytic converter with ECE approval is approved for use on public roads. All other catalytic converter versions and the version without a catalytic converter are intended exclusively for track use.
Catalytic converter information
When selecting a downpipe without a catalytic converter or with a 100-cell or 200-cell catalytic converter, the ECU may register a fault from the post-cat oxygen sensor. This does not affect vehicle operation, as the pre-cat oxygen sensor remains fitted and controls the engine, while the post-cat sensor monitors catalytic converter efficiency. The fault can be removed by adapting the software.
On most vehicles up to the Euro 3 emissions standard, no post-cat oxygen sensor is fitted, so installation is possible without further adjustments or fault messages. HJS ECE and EOBD catalytic converters have a significantly higher washcoat content and very high oxygen-storage capacity, which can prevent fault messages. The EOBD catalytic converters have been tested for this purpose up to Euro 4, while their durability and use are suitable up to the Euro 6 emissions standard. On Euro 5/6 vehicles, the points mentioned above can only be avoided by selecting a catalytic converter with ECE approval.
