Road use: ECE approval applies only to the Bull-X Tronic control unit (with ECE approval) option in the »Control mode selection« field. In this configuration, the valve exhaust system has ECE approval and is suitable for use on public roads.
During driving, you can choose between Comfort and Sport modes. If the vehicle has drive profile selection, the system can be controlled through this function. For vehicles without drive profile selection, control is provided by the supplied button. The button’s LED indicates the current valve position: the valve is open when the light is off and closed when the light is on.
The control unit automatically closes the valve in all operating ranges required by the ECE approval, regardless of the selected driving mode.
In general, Bull-X Tronic offers two control options:
- Sport (Dynamic, Race): the valve is controlled within the limits permitted by the ECE approval.
- Comfort mode: the valve remains closed at all times, but opens within the limits permitted by the ECE approval when driving with the throttle more than 75% open.
Suitable for: BMW 4 I (F32/F33/F36/F82/F83), BMW M2 I (F22/F23/F45/F46/F87), BMW M3 VI (F30/F31/F34/F80).

Approval
Only the version marked “road legal” has a European ECE / EC approval (Bull-X Tronic controller with ECE or the HJS EC catalytic converter). Versions marked “no ECE, track use only” have no approval and are not permitted for road use. If in doubt about the version, contact us and we will check for you.
