The original plastic oil filter housing is quite brittle and can become fragile and crack over time. The CTS Turbo B-Cool housing is made from T6061 aluminium. Cooling fins are integrated into the design, acting as a heat sink and helping to dissipate heat from the engine oil.
Installation is simple and requires only basic hand tools:
- Drain the oil from the filter housing.
- Use a 36 mm socket to remove the factory oil filter housing.
- Fit the new filter and the new original housing O-ring seal to the CTS Turbo housing.
- Reinstall the housing on the vehicle and tighten it to 18 ft/lbs, then top up the engine oil.
