The induction system was developed for third-generation Mini vehicles and BMW 118i models equipped with a Bosch intake air sensor bearing part number 0 281 006 597. Check which sensor is fitted to your vehicle before ordering.
The kit includes a dedicated aluminium heat shield, which also acts as an air scoop from the intake in the front support panel. It uses the original mounting points with rubber inserts to reduce vibration and noise.
The hose between the filter and engine is handmade and equipped with a precisely machined MAF fitting, allowing the original mass air flow meter to be easily fitted to the new induction system. The filter is manufactured to Forge Motorsport specifications by Pipercross.
According to dynamometer test data, the kit can deliver up to 10 BHP of additional power. The air scoop and rigid hose are finished with a durable black crackle-effect powder coating for an OEM-style appearance.
Installation is straightforward and does not require cutting or modifying the vehicle, so the kit can also be removed when required. Estimated installation time is 20–30 minutes.
This product is not suitable for the 306 hp version.
The product is suitable only for vehicles fitted with Bosch sensor 0 281 006 597. If a different sensor is fitted to the vehicle, this induction system is not suitable.
DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN
When securing the filter to the corresponding fitting, do not overtighten the hose clamp. Overtightening can compress the part and cause installation or operating problems. The recommended hose clamp tightening torque is 2–2.4 Nm.
