Forge Motorsport turbo blanket for Mercedes A45/CLA45/GLA45 AMG M133

This turbo blanket is fitted over the existing original heat shield.

Forge Motorsport FMTUBL9 is designed for the standard turbochargers of the Mercedes A45, GLA45 and CLA45 AMG models with the M133 engine. The blanket limits radiant heat from the turbocharger with additional insulation for the original heat shield, while also providing additional protection for the engine’s exhaust pipe.

The design is made for the most demanding conditions and has been tested to withstand up to 1370 °C (2500 °F) of radiant heat, helping to protect and extend the service life of engine components.

Exhaust gas heat remains contained in the hot side of the turbocharger and is therefore kept further away from the cold side and intake path. This can help reduce turbo lag and intake air temperature, consequently providing more power.

Installation is simple, as the existing original fasteners are used.

Please note that after the first few heat cycles, the turbo blanket will lose some of its flexibility as the material hardens. Therefore, do not remove it after installation, as this could damage the blanket.

Before installation, check that the engine bay is the same as shown in the first image. If your vehicle has a fire extinguisher fitted to the engine-bay bulkhead and the associated hoses, as shown in the second image, the turbo blanket will not fit.
