Forge Motorsport turbo blanket for Subaru Impreza II/Legacy IV

The Forge Motorsport turbo blanket is designed to limit the radiant heat generated by the turbocharger. It is made for use in extremely demanding conditions and helps protect and extend the service life of engine components. Its design can help reduce turbo lag and lower intake air temperature.

During the first few heat cycles, the blanket will lose some flexibility as the material hardens. Once fitted, therefore, do not remove it, as this may damage it. The design contains exhaust gas heat on the hot side of the turbocharger and directs it away from the cold side and intake path.

According to the manufacturer, the product is intended for the Subaru Impreza WRX with a 2.0L or 2.5L engine, Subaru Forester 2.5L and Subaru Legacy 2.5L. For the Subaru Impreza WRX 2.0L, the stated model years are 2002–2005, and for the 2.5L, 2006–2011; for the Forester 2.5L, the stated model years are 2004–2011, and for the Legacy 2.5L, 2005–2009. The blanket has also been fitted to a Subaru equipped with a VF43 turbocharger.

Inner surface:

• Maximum permissible temperature: 2300 °F/1260 °C
• Temperature limit for continuous use: 1832 °F/1000 °C

Outer surface:

• Direct contact limit: 1800 °F/982 °C
• Radiant heat limit: 2500 °F/1371 °C
