Forge Motorsport turbo inlet hose for VAG 1.0 TSI

The original turbo adaptor on the 1.0 TSI engine has a highly restrictive ribbed, hollow resonator chamber designed to disrupt airflow and reduce intake noise. This design negatively affects engine performance, especially on modified vehicles. The Forge Motorsport FMTIA3 removes this restriction and increases the volume and airflow to the turbocharger.

The internal stepped design at the connection to the turbocharger housing provides the smoothest possible transition from the intake tract to the turbo. The hose is made from multi-layer reinforced silicone, which is more durable than the original plastic hose and less sensitive to heat from surrounding components.

The increased volume and less restrictive internal surface direct air straight into the turbocharger and allow a greater quantity of air to be compressed. This can improve throttle response when accelerating after prolonged engine braking or during gear changes, as more air remains in the intake tract leading to the turbocharger.

Compatibility with engine versions

FMTIA3 is compatible with vehicles that have the PCV system integrated into the existing turbo inlet tract, as well as vehicles without it. Earlier engine versions do not have a breather system between the fuel tank and the elbow, so the necessary parts to seal the connections on the elbow are included if required when fitting it to an older engine version.

A one-way valve and connecting adaptor are also included, allowing the elbow to be fitted to a newer engine version. FMTIA3 is compatible with the original air filter housing.

The product is intended for modifications to the 1.0 TSI engine, whether stage 1 or stage 2. Depending on the level of vehicle modification, improvements of 3–5 hp have been recorded.

Fitting is straightforward, requires basic tools and takes approximately 60 minutes. Detailed fitting instructions are included.
