Forge Motorsport turbocharger actuator for Audi A4/A6 2.0 TFSI

Forge Motorsport turbocharger actuator for the BorgWarner 06D 145 701J turbocharger, fitted to the Audi A4 2.0T (2005–2009) and Audi A6 2.0T (2005–2011).

Suitable for engines with the following codes: BGB, BUL, BWE, BPG, BWT, BYK and BPJ.

Forge Motorsport has developed a two-piece replacement actuator made from 6026 aluminium. This design allows precise adjustment and control of the required boost pressure, which can improve turbocharger response and boost pressure control.

Operation and spring selection

The actuator is supplied as standard with a spring suitable for factory or slightly higher boost pressure. For vehicles with upgrades, a stronger spring can be fitted on request when higher boost pressure is required.

The diaphragm-sealed interior is the standard design. A piston-sealed version is also available, providing comparable operation and less maintenance due to the durability of the piston seal.

The actuator is designed to increase the turbocharger system’s boost pressure output, but the setting must always be matched to the limitations of the engine control electronics. Compatibility with all versions or operation beyond the limits permitted by the factory or installed engine management system cannot be guaranteed.

The actuator is supplied as standard with a standard spring. To use the FMPACTUN spring kit, diaphragm version type 2, 049 must be selected.

All actuator rods are made from 303-grade stainless steel.

The specified spring pressures according to the colour markings refer only to the mechanical part and are primarily relevant to older turbocharged engines that are not controlled via the ECU or solenoid.

In modern engines controlled via the ECU or solenoid, the target boost pressure is not necessarily the same as the spring’s mechanical specification. Consult a qualified tuner when selecting a spring for a specific model and planned level of modification.
