Forge Motorsport turbocharger actuator for VW Golf VI 2.0 TSI with IHI turbo

Replacement turbocharger actuator for vehicles based on the VW Golf Mk6 chassis with a 2.0 TSI engine and IHI turbo. This unit is not compatible with IHI turbos where the actuator is welded to the turbocharger housing and the end of the rod is permanently riveted to the wastegate lever. It is only suitable for turbos where the actuator is bolted to the turbocharger housing and the lever is removable. The original turbocharger and actuator must be checked before installation.

The actuator is designed for more precise adjustment and control of the required boost pressure, which can improve turbocharger response and control. It is supplied as standard with a spring suitable for factory or slightly higher boost pressure levels. A stronger spring can be used for modified vehicles on request.

Diaphragm sealing is the standard version. Piston sealing offers comparable performance and less maintenance due to the durability of the piston’s internal components.

The actuator is designed to increase the turbocharging system’s output boost pressure, but the setting must always be compatible with the limitations of the factory or aftermarket engine management system. On modern engines with electronic control and a solenoid valve, the mechanical spring specification does not necessarily correspond to the target boost pressure. If you are unsure which spring to choose, consult a qualified tuner.

A green spring is fitted as standard for this actuator. The FMPACTUN spring adjustment kit can be used with the Diaphragm Type 2, 049 version.

For the T2 spring range, the designation is FMAS049.

The kit includes:

The stated spring pressures for the different colour codes refer only to the mechanical aspect and apply primarily to older turbocharged engines without electronic regulation via the ECU or a solenoid valve.
