Forge Motorsport turbocharger heat shield for BMW 1M/135i/335i N54

This pair of Forge turbocharger heat shields is designed for BMW N54 engines in the 1M, 135i and 335i models. It is designed to limit the radiant heat generated by the turbochargers and help protect and extend the service life of surrounding engine components.

• Inner core made from calcium magnesium silicate wool
• High-temperature silicate fabric

The special design helps limit turbo lag and reduce intake air temperature. The material loses some of its flexibility after the first few heat cycles as it hardens, so routinely removing the heat shields after installation is not recommended, as this may damage them.

The heat shield retains exhaust gas heat on the hot side of the turbocharger and moves it away from the cold side and intake path. This can allow more oxygen per unit of displacement to reach the engine, which may help increase power.

Inner surface:

• Maximum permitted temperature: 2300 °F/1260 °C
• Continuous-use limit: 1832 °F/1000 °C

Outer surface:

• Direct-contact limit: 1800 °F/982 °C
• Radiant heat limit: 2500 °F/1371 °C
