Many vehicle manufacturers use an electrically actuated original diverter valve, which is all too often faulty or leaking from the factory. The original valves can already leak at higher boost pressure, causing a loss of performance. This effect is even more noticeable on tuned vehicles due to their higher boost pressure.
Installing the GFB DV+ diverter valve closes this »gap« in the charge-air system, meaning the turbocharger has to work less hard to achieve the requested boost pressure. The DV+ also features a mechanism that helps improve throttle response: during a change of load, just enough pressure remains in the charge-air system so that the system does not have to rebuild a certain amount of pressure from scratch when the throttle is opened again.
