GFB DVX combines performance with adjustable vent sound
GFB DVX upgrades the popular DV+ diverter valve with two vent outlets and a system for adjusting the vent ratio. This provides better boost retention and faster throttle response, while also allowing complete control over the volume of the vent sound.
Why is DVX different from other valves with a distinctive vent sound?
- DVX is not merely a device for creating sound, like BOV spacers. By changing the way the valve operates, it offers the same performance benefits as DV+.
- It retains ECU control, enabling the fastest possible operation.
- The vent-ratio adjustment system allows you to change the sound simply by moving the adjustment lever.
- It is built for long-term use.
The GFB DV+ design solves the service-life and boost-leak issues common with factory diverter valves. Its operation has been changed to pilot actuation, ensuring better performance on both standard and modified engines.
DVX retains the working parts of the factory system and replaces those that cause problems, rather than replacing the entire factory diverter valve system.
Compatibility
T9654 is a direct replacement for the factory pneumatic diaphragm BPV (bypass valve) used on Ford, Volvo and Porsche vehicles and BorgWarner EFR turbochargers. The valve allows venting in two directions.
Why not just use a spacer?
There are many BOV spacers on the market that create sound, but they retain the factory diverter valve and redirect air to the atmosphere. The shortcomings of the factory valve design therefore remain, while the small openings in these spacers also significantly reduce the flow capacity of the factory diverter valve.
ECU control versus vacuum control
Some BOV kits completely remove ECU control and use only vacuum from the intake manifold. This method is common with most BOV valves, but ECU control is considerably faster because it also detects and responds to smaller changes in throttle position.
The unique vent-ratio adjustment system
GFB’s vent-ratio adjustment system uses an internal rotating sleeve that allows the opening of the recirculation port and the vent-to-atmosphere port to be adjusted continuously. You are therefore not limited to a fixed 50/50 ratio or 100% venting to the atmosphere, but can set the ratio as desired.
Because the vent-to-atmosphere outlet has one large port instead of several small openings, the vent sound is deeper and louder than with a BOV spacer.
Key benefits
DVX improves system performance, increases boost-retention capability and enables a fully adjustable vent sound – from almost inaudible and similar to standard, to very loud.
