The high-quality HFT core offers excellent cooling properties, delivering strong performance even under unfavourable conditions while remaining highly robust. It is characterised by high resistance and lower heat build-up than comparable cores from other manufacturers. The complete system is also designed for optimum flow. This means that pressure loss is minimal, while the entire charge-air path has been developed using CAD flow analyses. This also includes the end tanks, which are made from high-strength cast aluminium.
The advantages of this product are:
- significantly cooler charge air, which improves engine combustion
- earlier response
- improved flow
This product is therefore suitable for both standard power and motorsport applications, as substantially higher power outputs are also possible. Each intercooler was built for the relevant vehicle, calculated using flow simulations and tested on the manufacturer’s own dynamometer.

What does an upgraded intercooler provide?
Expressing the exact power gain from an intercooler upgrade in figures requires many unknown factors to be considered, such as factory power variation, other hardware changes and the software used during measurement. This differs from vehicle to vehicle. As a rule of thumb for tuned engines, an increase of up to 5–10 % can be expected.
At least equally important is the fact that, whether the engine has already been optimised or is to remain standard in terms of software, the intercooler helps prevent power loss at high ambient temperatures and can prevent the temperature protection stored in many ECUs from being reached. This allows you to rely on the engine’s full power.
Recommendation
Use HF-Series intercoolers in combination with hardware and software optimisation. Reduced back pressure, which relieves the turbocharger, together with cooler charge air, which increases the oxygen content in the combustion chamber and reduces thermal load, creates a performance upgrade that efficiently utilises the potential of any turbocharged engine.
When tuning a vehicle’s hardware or software, charge-pressure loss must not be overlooked. If the vehicle’s power is increased through chip tuning, charge pressure will also increase in 99% of cases. Using the standard intercooler causes charge-pressure loss to rise exponentially. The turbocharger must then work harder, increasing its thermal load and reducing its service life, while higher rotational speeds accelerate wear. HF-Series intercoolers provide the ideal balance between cooling performance and charge-pressure loss.
