Maintenance

Pipercross air filters are made from a special multi-layer filter foam with different pore sizes, from coarse to fine. This three-layer foam is very easy to clean. The air filter no longer needs to be disposed of after use, reducing waste and providing a more sustainable solution. Pipercross filters contain no oil residue and regain 100% of their original performance after cleaning. Cleaning is quick and straightforward.

Cleaning

One of the key advantages of Pipercross air filters is that, at the same level of contamination, they still provide greater airflow than a cotton or paper filter. Dirt is retained by the unique foam surface, allowing fresh intake air to continue flowing through the filter.

We recommend cleaning the filter after no more than 15,000–20,000 km or once a year. The best time to clean the air filter is around the end of May or in June, after the pollen season, as this is when the filter is usually subjected to the greatest load.

A special cleaning solution is available for this purpose. Under no circumstances should aggressive cleaners such as wash petrol, cleaning petrol or brake cleaner be used, as they may damage the material. A Pipercross filter has no oil-bonded residue and regains 100% of its original performance after quick and simple cleaning.
