Note: This kit is suitable only for intercooler connections with an outside diameter of 70 mm, such as HF-Series V3 or Wagner intercoolers.

Note: Before ordering, check whether the windscreen-washer reservoir is located on the driver’s side (filler neck next to the air-filter housing) or on the passenger side (in front of the coolant reservoir). If the reservoir is fitted on the passenger side, select the additional bracket for the vehicle-specific fitting hardware. This optional additional bracket is intended for the Golf 7R/Clubsport and all Cupra Euro 6 models with a manual gearbox.

System benefits

With this system, back pressure is diverted directly in front of the throttle. As the valve is positioned downstream of the intercooler, only cooled air is circulated.

On many engines, the factory diverter valve is positioned upstream of the intercooler, meaning that only hot, uncooled air is circulated. The original valve is built directly into the turbocharger. During load changes, it returns excess boost pressure to the intake system to help prevent turbocharger damage, as the turbocharger would be slowed by the back pressure created when the throttle closes.

Over time, continuous exposure to heat often causes the original valve to deteriorate and become leaky. A leaking valve results in poorer response and power loss, which is not usually noticed immediately because the fault develops gradually. The driver becomes unconsciously accustomed to the worsening response and loss of power. In addition, hot charge air is constantly recirculated.

This conversion kit relocates the valve to a cooler area of the system, providing the following benefits:

1. Improved response, as pressure is diverted immediately in front of the throttle.
2. Instead of hot, uncooled charge air, only cool air is returned to the system. The turbocharger therefore has to move less air.
3. Because of the relocation, the valve is no longer exposed to the high thermal load caused by installation in the turbocharger.
4. The cooler the intake air, the higher its density; the higher the density, the better the cylinder filling. This can also produce more power at lower engine speeds.

Road use: Product documentation is included with the kit. Before using it on public roads, check that the documentation is valid for the specific vehicle and configuration.
