This new HF-Series development is compatible with almost all intake systems for VAG 1.8–2.0 TSI Euro 6 engines, whether the original system or, for example, the HF-Series carbon intake. It is a very important component between the turbocharger and the intake system, because the full potential of the turbocharger and engine can only be made available when the entire route to the turbocharger is optimised.

The new intake pipe was developed to provide maximum flow and optimum airflow. The original component is restrictive and also features edges that are unfavourable to airflow, so it is not designed for performance and instead creates turbulence and back pressure. Following a 3D scan, our upgraded intake pipe was enlarged to a maximum diameter of 70 mm. As a result, airflow increased from 219 cfm with the original part to a substantial 319.5 cfm when replaced with our intake pipe, an improvement of more than 50%. Using state-of-the-art flow animations and other computer simulations, this performance component was created from aluminium with a CNC flange and hand-made outlets. This allows the air to reach the turbocharger through an optimum and even flow path. The results are higher peak power and improved throttle response.

Features of our upgraded intake pipe

• Optimised airflow: our aluminium inlet is specially designed to maximise airflow. The reduced wall thickness of just 2 mm minimises turbulence and resistance inside the inlet. This results in a smoother and more efficient air supply to the engine, optimising combustion and increasing performance.
• Excellent thermal efficiency: aluminium offers excellent thermal conductivity, resulting in improved heat management. Our inlets allow heat to dissipate more quickly, keeping the intake air cooler and increasing engine efficiency. The thinner wall further supports this effect, as heat is transferred to the surroundings more quickly.
• Weight reduction for improved performance: another benefit of our aluminium inlets is their reduced weight. With a wall thickness of just 2 mm, they weigh 227 grams and are considerably lighter than their 5 mm-thick cast counterparts. This lower weight helps reduce the vehicle’s overall mass, improving its handling and acceleration. Every gram saved can make a difference, particularly in motorsport or high-performance vehicles.
