The B58 turbo inlet/intake pipe for BMW B58 engines from the HF-Series is compatible with the standard intake systems. It is a very important component between the turbocharger and the intake system, as the full potential of the turbocharger and engine can only be made available when the entire route to the turbocharger is optimised.
The new intake neck was developed to provide maximum flow and optimum airflow, delivering a remarkable +41% increase in air throughput. The original component is restrictive and also features flow-unfriendly edges as well as 2 resonance chambers/silencers. It is therefore not designed for performance and even creates turbulence and back pressure. This allows the air to reach the turbocharger with an optimum and even flow path.
The results are higher peak power, improved throttle response and a stronger intake sound, making conversion to a carbon intake costing 3-4mal more unnecessary. For the perfect intake upgrade, we recommend using it in combination with the Pipercross Lifetime sports air filter.
