The Racingline intake system for the limited-edition VW Polo 6R WRC with the 2.0 TFSI engine replaces the factory airbox with a higher-flow solution. The system supplies colder, denser air from outside the engine bay, helping to improve throttle response and engine efficiency.

It is a direct replacement requiring no cutting, drilling or modification of components.

Performance on the Polo WRC

The standard intake system of the Polo R WRC is designed primarily for quiet everyday driving, prioritising noise reduction over airflow. Installing the Racingline kit removes this restriction and provides the 2.0 TFSI turbocharged engine with more cold air under higher loads. The result is improved throttle response, stronger pull through the mid-range and a more pronounced intake sound under acceleration.

The central component of the system is the Racingline TriFoam filter. This washable three-layer foam filter traps fine dust particles while allowing a high airflow. Unlike disposable paper filters, it can be cleaned and re-oiled multiple times.

Maintenance

The TriFoam filter should be inspected periodically and cleaned using a Racingline filter cleaning and re-oiling kit. With proper maintenance, the filter is designed to last for the entire service life of the vehicle.
