Racingline lowering springs for Cupra Formentor KM7 2.0 TSI/TDI 4Drive

Racingline lowering springs are a simple and cost-effective way to improve the handling and appearance of the Cupra Formentor, without the complexity and cost of a complete coilover kit.

The Formentor’s factory suspension is a compromise, leaving noticeable gaps between the tyres and wheel arches, while the vehicle may feel slightly soft on the road. Fitting Racingline lowering springs lowers the centre of gravity by approximately 30 mm, improving handling and giving the vehicle a sportier stance.

Effect of the lowering springs

• Reduced body roll: Less body roll through corners means greater confidence and improved stability during dynamic driving.
• More precise steering feel: The lower centre of gravity provides a more direct and connected steering response.
• Improved appearance: Lowering by approximately 30 mm reduces the gaps between the tyres and wheel arches, creating a sportier stance.
• Comfort retained: The progressive spring rate allows comfortable everyday driving while providing better control when required.

The advantage of a progressive spring rate

A progressive spring design ensures good comfort. In the middle of the spring’s travel, where most everyday driving takes place, the spring rate is very similar to standard, so the vehicle remains comfortable even over ordinary uneven surfaces. When the spring compresses further during fast cornering or heavy braking, it becomes stiffer, providing better control of the body and calmer vehicle behaviour.

Racingline has designed the springs to work with the standard dampers, including vehicles with Cupra DCC (Dynamic Chassis Control) adaptive dampers. No other suspension changes are required.

Compatibility

The springs have been developed exclusively for the Cupra Formentor 2.0 TSI and 2.0 TDI 4Drive with four-wheel drive. They are not suitable for front-wheel-drive Formentor versions.
