These models are often slightly too high above the wheel arches in standard form, while their response can feel somewhat soft in faster corners. Effect of the springs on the vehicle

Racingline designed the springs to provide a sensible balance between more precise handling and everyday driving comfort. The shorter progressive design, in which the spring becomes firmer as it is compressed further, lowers the vehicle by approximately 20 mm at the front and rear.

• Comfortable everyday driving: progressive spring rate in the middle of the spring travel remains similar to standard, so normal driving remains comfortable.

Progressive design explained

The key feature is the change in spring rate throughout its travel. During normal driving, the spring behaves similarly to the original and effectively absorbs bumps and impacts from the road. As it compresses further under cornering loads or heavy braking, it gradually becomes firmer, controls body movement more effectively and provides a more dynamic feel. The result is a calm and controlled vehicle on winding roads that is not unpleasantly stiff on the motorway or in town.

Compatibility with standard and DCC dampers

The springs are carefully matched to the characteristics of the original dampers, so they work correctly with both standard suspension and VW DCC (Adaptive Chassis Control) adjustable dampers. No other modifications or recalibration are required – the springs are installed in place of the originals.
