Racingline lowering springs – VW Golf V R32 and Golf VI R
Racingline lowering springs improve the appearance and driving characteristics of the VW Golf V R32 and Golf VI R. They are an effective upgrade to the standard suspension without the cost and complexity of a complete coilover kit.
The Golf R32 and Golf R are already slightly higher in standard form, while their suspension allows more body roll during dynamic driving. Racingline lowering springs address both shortcomings by simply replacing the standard springs.
What the springs bring to your Golf
Replacing the standard springs with shorter progressive springs lowers the vehicle’s centre of gravity by approximately 25 mm. The vehicle feels firmer and more stable on the road, while the large standard gaps between the wheel arches and wheels are reduced.
- Lowering: approximately 25 mm front and rear
- Less body roll: the vehicle stays flatter through corners, improving stability and the sense of control
- More responsive steering: the lower centre of gravity provides a more direct and connected driving feel
- Improved appearance: a cleaner and sportier stance that suits the Golf R
Progressive design – performance without excessive stiffness
The key advantage of these springs for everyday use is their progressive spring rate. Spring rate during normal travel remains similar to standard, so the ride is still comfortable during normal use. When the suspension is compressed further, for example during fast cornering or braking, the springs become stiffer and control the body more effectively.
The result is suspension that is comfortable in everyday driving, yet noticeably more composed and stable during more dynamic driving.
Compatibility with existing dampers
Racingline developed the springs specifically to work with the standard dampers of the Golf R32 and Golf R, including vehicles with the DCC (Adaptive Chassis Control) system. DCC dampers electronically adjust the damping, while the springs are matched to them, so recalibration or additional parts are not required. The DCC system continues to function as intended after installation.
The springs are manufactured by a leading European original equipment (OE) supplier, so their quality, consistency and service life are comparable to factory parts.
Compatibility
The springs are intended for the VW Golf V R32 and VW Golf VI R. When choosing, note that they are suitable for the 3.2 R32 4motion and 2.0 R 4motion engines with the CDLA, CDLC/CRZA and CDLF codes.
If you want to improve the appearance and driving characteristics of your Golf R32 or R without installing coilovers, Racingline lowering springs are a sensible upgrade. They offer approximately 25 mm of lowering, improved handling and comfort suitable for everyday driving.
