Racingline lowering springs for the VW Golf VII GTI and SEAT Leon III Cupra improve the vehicle’s appearance and road handling. They lower the centre of gravity and reduce body roll, making cornering more stable and precise.
This is a straightforward upgrade that does not require the expense and complexity of a complete coilover system. The springs are designed for use with standard dampers, so no further suspension modifications are required.
Features
- Lowering: approximately 20–25 mm on the front and rear axles, reducing the gap between the tyre and wheel arch.
- Reduced body roll: the vehicle remains flatter through corners, improving stability and the feeling of control.
- More precise steering feel: the lower centre of gravity provides more direct contact with the road.
- Progressive spring rate: the springs are more comfortable through the normal range of travel, then become firmer towards the end of the stroke for better control during fast cornering and heavy braking.
- DCC compatibility: they work correctly with both standard dampers and Volkswagen Adaptive Chassis Control (DCC) dampers.
Everyday driving comfort
The progressive design provides a compromise between comfort and sporty handling. During normal driving, the spring rate is similar to standard, so driving on poorer roads and motorways remains comfortable. During more dynamic driving, the springs stiffen and improve body control when cornering and braking hard.
The springs are made in Europe by an original equipment manufacturer for vehicles.
Compatibility
The kit is intended for the VW Golf VII GTI and SEAT Leon III Cupra.
Important: the springs are not suitable for SEAT Leon ST 4Drive models, i.e. estate versions with four-wheel drive.
They are suitable for 2.0 GTI engines with the codes CHHA, CHHB, CNTC, CXCB, CXDA, CNTA and CXCA, and 2.0 Cupra engines with the codes CJXA, CJXC, CJXE, CJXH and DNUC.
Suitable for: SEAT Leon III (5F) / III (5F1), VW Golf VII (5G1).
