Racingline sports suspension kit for VW Golf 8 R Hatch

This matched suspension kit combines Racingline sports dampers with their lowering springs. This gives you a purpose-developed combination rather than an unmatched kit of individual parts.

The kit changes the stance, handling and responsiveness of your Golf R. The vehicle is lower, firmer and more precise through corners, while remaining suitable for everyday driving. It is a sensible upgrade for drivers who want improved handling without moving to fully adjustable suspension.

• 2 × rear Racingline Performance sports dampers
• 4 × Racingline Performance lowering springs, for the front and rear axles

Why upgrade the springs and dampers together?

Fitting sports springs to standard dampers is a common compromise that can result in a harsher ride and faster wear of the original dampers, as they are not tuned for shorter, stiffer springs. Racingline has therefore matched the springs with its own sports dampers so that the complete system works efficiently and in harmony.

The result is better body control through corners, less body roll and dive, and a more stable feel at higher speeds, without unnecessarily compromising comfort during everyday driving.

The kit was tuned on the multi-link MQB platform on which the Golf R is based, so the damping characteristics are adapted to the vehicle’s weight and lower ride height.

Lowering and ride height

The kit lowers the Golf Mk8 R by approximately 20–25 mm at the front and rear. This is enough for a noticeably more compact stance and lower centre of gravity, while the vehicle remains practical for kerbs, speed bumps and driveways.

Important compatibility information

• Suitable only for Golf Mk8 R models with a 3- or 5-door Hatch body.
• Not suitable for Golf R Estate or “ST” Wagon versions.
• Not suitable for vehicles with DCC (Dynamic Chassis Control) suspension or Magnetic Ride adaptive suspension.

If you are unsure whether your vehicle has DCC, check the equipment list or the vehicle’s factory specification. Fitting this kit to a vehicle with DCC disables the adaptive damping.
