Racingline sports suspension kit for VW Golf VII R Hatch

The Racingline sports suspension kit combines lowering springs and performance-matched dampers in one solution. It improves handling, lowers the vehicle’s centre of gravity and creates a more purposeful appearance, while retaining comfort for everyday use.

The standard suspension of the Golf R is designed as an all-round solution, so it can feel slightly soft during more dynamic driving. Replacing the springs and dampers with a matched kit removes this compromise in the setup. The components are designed to work together, helping you avoid issues that can result from fitting sports springs to standard dampers, such as unsettled and harsher driving as well as faster damper wear.

Benefits of the Golf R kit

• 25 mm lowering at the front and 20 mm at the rear – lowers the centre of gravity and improves the vehicle’s stance without excessively reducing usability on everyday roads.
• Sports-tuned dampers – reduce body roll in corners and nose dive under heavy braking.
• More precise steering response – the vehicle responds more directly to steering inputs, which is particularly noticeable on winding roads and the track.
• Comfortable everyday driving – the setup is firmer but not excessively hard, making the kit suitable for everyday and longer journeys as well.
• Direct replacement for the original parts – installation uses the factory mounting points without modifications.

Driving feel

Through corners, the body is noticeably calmer and the steering feel is more connected to the road. At higher speeds, the vehicle is more stable over uneven surfaces and dives less under braking. In town, the suspension is firmer than standard but quickly settles after speed bumps, manholes and expansion joints. The kit is not intended exclusively for track use.

Important compatibility notes

The kit is suitable only for Golf Mk7 R Hatch models with 3 or 5 doors.

Not compatible with:

• Golf R Estate/Variant models or estate versions;
• vehicles with DCC suspension (Dynamic Chassis Control, or adaptive/magnetic suspension).

Suitable for: VW Golf VII (5G1).
