The car body is the part of the vehicle subjected to the greatest loads while driving. This is especially noticeable when the body’s weight is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in increased body twisting, deformation and torsional loads, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Twisting and torsional deformation of the chassis when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The two-point C-pillar brace helps further connect the body around the C-pillars and reduce its flexing.
