The Racingline MQB subframe alignment kit eliminates a known weakness of the MQB platform – oversized factory subframe bolt holes. By precisely positioning the subframe during every installation, it improves steering response and consistency while helping to keep wheel alignment within the specified tolerances for longer.

The factory design issue

On vehicles using the MQB platform, the subframes carrying the suspension and engine are attached to the body through oversized holes. The factory designed this solution to make assembly adjustment easier, but it also has a drawback. After each removal and refitting, the subframe may be installed slightly differently. During more demanding driving, it can also move over time, causing the wheel alignment to gradually deviate from the specified values.

The result is a less precise steering feel, less consistent handling and the need for repeated wheel alignment adjustments.

The Racingline solution

The kit contains 16 precision-machined thrust centring rings that fill the gap between the factory bolts and the oversized holes. Once installed, the subframe is precisely centred and fixed, eliminating the play allowed by the factory design.

Installation instructions

Installation is straightforward and usually takes approximately one hour. The rings simply press into place, with no modifications to the subframe or bodywork required.

Important: Factory subframe bolts are stretch bolts intended for single use only. They must be replaced with new ones every time the subframe is removed.

Key point: A complete professional wheel alignment must be carried out after installation. The kit ensures correct subframe centring, but the final suspension adjustment must be performed by a qualified technician.
