The car’s chassis is subjected to heavy loads during dynamic driving, mainly due to the transfer of the body’s weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in greater deformation and twisting of the chassis, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis while cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
