The car’s chassis is the part subjected to the greatest stress due to driving style. Significant loads occur mainly because of body weight transfer during fast cornering, heavy braking or hard acceleration.
In certain situations, weight transfer during cornering can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to up to three times more force than the other. This can result in considerable chassis flex and body deformation, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis flex and deformation during cornering can cause unwanted handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower chassis brace helps limit these movements of the structure.
