A car’s body is subjected to high loads during fast driving. These are mainly caused by the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can cause significant twisting and bending of the body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Twisting and deformation of the chassis during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front upper strut brace helps connect the suspension’s upper mounting points, thereby improving the rigidity of the front part of the body.
