In some cases, weight transfer when cornering can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. This causes significant deformation and twisting of the chassis or body, resulting in a loss of tyre grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
