The vehicle chassis is exposed to the greatest loads while driving, particularly due to the transfer of the body’s mass during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When driving through corners, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This can result in significant deformation and twisting of the chassis or body, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
The brace is designed for Volkswagen Beetle II (A5) vehicles with a 1.2T engine and 2WD.
