The vehicle chassis is the part that is subjected to the greatest loads due to the driver’s driving style. This is particularly pronounced due to the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be subjected to forces up to three times greater than the other. This can result in significant deformation and twisting of the chassis or bodywork, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Deformation and twisting of the chassis when cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer.
The Ultra Racing fender brace is designed to provide additional support for the bodywork in this area.
