On these models, age and several hundred thousand kilometres can cause the shock mounts to crack. These reinforcements are intended for repairing damage as well as preventing it. The reinforcements are made of 3 mm thick steel (S355) and we highly recommend them to everyone as a preventive chassis upgrade.
