The Ultra Racing fender brace for Mazda MX-5 I (NA) is designed to increase body stiffness around the fenders. During fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration, the chassis is subjected to significant forces caused by the transfer of the body’s mass.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. This can cause pronounced chassis twisting or body deformation, resulting in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis twisting and deformation during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer.
