The car chassis is subjected to significant loads while driving, particularly due to the transfer of the body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This leads to significant loads, bending and twisting of the chassis or bodywork, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Bending and twisting of the chassis while driving through corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower H-chassis brace helps increase the stiffness of this part of the chassis.
