The vehicle body is one of the parts subjected to the greatest stress during dynamic driving. Stress is caused primarily by the transfer of body mass during fast cornering, heavy braking or acceleration.
When cornering, the transfer of mass can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This causes the chassis to bend, twist and deform, which can result in the tyres losing grip.
Chassis bending and twisting when driving through corners can lead to poorer handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower chassis brace helps reduce unwanted body twisting.
- Design: front lower chassis brace
