The vehicle chassis is one of the most heavily loaded parts, as it is affected by forces resulting from driving style. These forces are particularly pronounced when the vehicle’s body mass is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking and hard acceleration.
In certain cases, mass transfer during cornering can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to 3 times more than the other. This can result in greater chassis flex or body deformation, causing the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis flex and deformation during cornering can cause undesirable handling characteristics, such as understeer and oversteer. The Ultra Racing front lower chassis brace is designed to add stiffness to this area.
- Design: front lower chassis brace
