The vehicle chassis is the part subjected to the greatest loads during driving. This is particularly evident when the body weight is transferred during fast cornering, heavy braking or sudden acceleration.
When weight is transferred in a corner, one side of the vehicle can be subjected to a force up to three times greater than the other. This causes the chassis to bend and twist, or the bodywork to deform, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Chassis deformation and twisting in corners can cause undesirable handling characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower H-brace helps increase the stiffness of this part of the bodywork.
