The vehicle’s chassis or body structure is exposed to considerable loads during fast driving. These loads arise mainly from the transfer of body weight during fast cornering, heavy braking and acceleration.
When cornering, weight transfer can cause one side of the vehicle to be loaded up to three times more than the other. This results in greater deformation and twisting of the body, which can cause the tyres to lose grip.
Flexing and twisting of the chassis while cornering can cause undesirable driving characteristics such as understeer and oversteer. The front lower chassis brace helps increase the stiffness of this part of the body.
